I have always had a passion for art and teaching. I spent 27 years teaching first graders and kindergarteners how to read, write and do math, and loved every minute of it, however every chance I got I incorporated art into as many lessons as I could. I am a firm believer in creating connections and learning by doing, so art was the perfect tool to get children interested in a lesson or a new concept. When I retired from teaching in 2018, I started giving art lessons in my kitchen one afternoon a week. It quickly blossomed into two afternoons a week, and a homeschool group during the day. That summer I held art camps for kids in my husband's garage. He is one of my biggest supporters but quickly drew the line when glitter was introduced into "man-town!" After sharing his garage with me for three weeks that summer, he found a brick and mortar to rent, and Believe Designs Art Studio was born. Now I have five kids' classes during the week and teach paint parties for kids and adults of all ages and skill levels.
